Sneak Peak of Twin fiddles 5 - Reel Dubois
Last November JJ Guy joined Gordon Stobbe in Nova Scotia to begin work on their fifth Twin Fiddles recording. Tunes were written and recorded and the result, Twin Fiddles 5, was born. The CD release has been shelved for now for obvious reasons but we are excited to share a few of the tunes to give fiddle fans a taste of what is to come. The first tune, “Reel Dubois”, was written for a very dear friend from Langbank, Saskatchewan, Cheryl Dubois. Cheryl is still recovering from a near-fatal car accident which, although it came close to claiming her life, has not diminished the inner spark of one of the most joyful, happy, thankful and upbeat people we have ever met. She is a mother to 2 great daughters and an inspiration to everyone who has had the amazing good luck to know her. We emailed her a copy when the tune was finished. Her response? ‘This happy tune made me dance around the room’. Let’s all have a dance with Cheryl.
